Doin' my duty...
Well, just spent the last two hours cobbling together my nomintations for the CBFFAs. Which basically entailed my working my way back through the OTL archive and using it as a memory-jogger. As always, it was brought home how little I read lately - and as always, I found myself vowing to try and read more. And to feedback.
Still, it's done, and the next part is easier - voting. Simply a matter of ticking the boxes. ;) And I've had an inkling of an idea for my section of the awards ceremony too, which helps. I'll see if I can get anything down this weekend.
But not tonight. I'm surprised I'm functioning at all, after the day I've had at work. Sixty-five cases on the criminal list, five protection matters (Social Services intervening in children-at-risk situations) and about five intervention orders. Mr O'Day looked about as tired as I felt by the end of the day - I can't blame him for being a tad cranky when the airconditioning failed in the afternoon. Luckily Pete got it fixed - a matter of repriming something, I think. And tomorrow is boding to be about the same, with a contested matter booked in for a large slab of time. And we've got court on Friday, which is unheard-of usually. Fridays are our emergency-use-only days: we've booked the next four of five Fridays in a row in order to clear the backlog of cases. And they say Wodonga isn't as busy as Wnagaratta! *snorts* The people who work at Wang would die if they came to our court, and they have the cheek to say we don't do anything.
Strangely enough, despite the fact I'm bone-weary, I feel pretty good. I'd be happier without the knots in my shoulder, but. Feels like I've got a couple of golf balls tucked under my skin. ;P
