The people that you meet.

Another one of those brief updates, coming to you this time from Prince Rupert, British Columbia. We're booked in to catch the ferry to the Queen Charlotte Islands at 9pm tonight (no car, so we're hitching up to the national park on the north end of the main island), and are biding our time in various warm places - off to get food as soon as I unplug myself. We're kinda adrift at the moment as we thought the ferry left at 11am and have placed the car into secure parking and can't get at anything besides the packs we made up for the three days on the islands. Homeless, as it were. :)

We met (and got a lift into town from) a really interesting Native Indian woman who works at the ferry terminal - we spent perhaps two hours in this coffee shop/net cafe talking Deep and Meaningful things. This happens to Gerg all the time, apparently - people find the need to be philiosophical with him. One of the things that came out of the discussion was the issue of respect. Not just for people, but for the world around you. Everyone and everything deserves respect, until they do or say something that makes you lose that respect, in which case they have to earn it again. Bacsically my life philosophy.

Oh, and I slipped whilst walking yesterday and bruised my back. Things are working, albeit with much complaint, so I'll have to take it easy for the next day or two. Damn attack logs. :P
