Happy Strike Day!

So, I got woken up by [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] this morning to be told the TTC (Toronto Transit Corporation) isn't happening today. Snap strike by maintenance workers. So Lise is stuck, I'm stuck and Mindy's stuck. John happened to stay overnight and has a car, but none of us could get home and in my case I'm really doubting I could actually get into the office any way since most of my co-workers (including the people with the keys) use the TTC as well and live further out.

I called in, left a message and Lise's cell phone number and now we're going out for breakfast at the Sunset grill. Silver linings and all. *grins*

It's also rather sticky and hot today, so hey, good day to avoid being crammed into a metal box with a hundred other people.

Today has been warm and rather humid. Low thirties, even, which is my first taste of weather to wear small amounts of clothing since April. 2005. I've missed wearing my little skirts, so I have. Although Dex putting the airconditioner on is also a good thing.

We - Mindy, Lise and I - actually spent part of the day at Johnny's place, helping him clean in preparation for his parents turning up tomorrow. I also managed to do my laundry over there, which was great since I washed my sheets and the couch blankets as well, plus a batch of Johnny's stuff. All very domestic. Johnny paid us back by buying both lunch and breakfast, and Dex is making what appears to be a really nice dinner. Life, as they say, is good.

Or will be once I go back to the computer shop tomorrow. *pouts* Apparently my disk drive on the new computer is faulty, since I have the Photoshop CD Bounce made for me stuck in there refusing to acknowledge all the usual overrides. Since it's only a day or two since I bought it, this shouldn't be an issue - I'll take it back after work tomorrow.

News on the strike... everything should be running tomorrow.

In honour of summer arriving...

The three of us are going to go sit on the patio, drink sangria and wear the leis Lise gave Dex for Christmas.
