Escape from Kansas!

As those reading [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s LJ might already know, the flight the roomie and I were supposed to catch at 9:20 this morning was cancelled during the 45 minute trip to the airport. We've been rscheduled to 6:30 pm, and, having insufficient funds to get to and from Nute's place again, we're spending the time in the airport. Luckily there is wireless and I have my laptop, plus books and sufficient fundage for bad American food and beer.

In another ten minutes I get to wake the roomie up so we can have another round of the shuttle bus and catch up with the various folks who are trying to fly out as well today. It could end up being party at the airport time, if they keep cancelling and rescheduling flights. Given the amount of ice out there, and the fact it's snowing (albeit lightly - think I'll go get some photos for the folks back in Oz), there's a distinct possibility none of us will be heard from again. Although there is some sun struggling through out there now.

Welcome to Kansas in January. Still, the weekend itself was much worth it.

[Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], so sorry I wasn't able to get in touch. Things were pretty insane for the whole weekend and this is the first time I've been able to get online all weekend, so yeah, missed pretty much all the 'getting in touch with' options.

Airport update

Hour eight of the Great Airport Wait. There's a bar, there were actually quite passable veggie quesedias and there is a table near a power outlet. Yay.

Yes, Dex and I are in the process of drinking up the rest of our US cash, what makes you ask?

Airport! Hour Nine!

Dex just came back to the table with the news that we've been delayed another hour. *whimpers* We have now officially spent more time in this airport than I do at work.

However, we should be back tonight. Dex will be at the Griffin at eleven. I'll be in my bunk.
