Another brief catch-up

This is going to be the trend for the next few weeks, if not months, I'm thinking. Doesn't mean I'm not thinking of folks, just that I don't have time to sit down and write all I'm doing and thinking. As Melancamp says, "Happiness is active". And the happies are keeping me busy.

Kew Gardens yesterday, which was a nice welcome green break. I found a snow gum and gave it a big hug. :) But yeah, 300 acres of garden and park - wish Mum could have been there, she'd have loved it - and lots of wandering and talking and generally being. Lots of growing things. And we had dinner in, which meant CynJen and I teamed up to make pasta, whilst Farli found things for us, being her kitchen and all. No-one died, so this is good. And after several days of solid walking around the city, we had a quieter night in, involving The Matrix on video (sidenote - watching martial arts-type movies always leaves me with twitchy feet and hands) and ice-cream and chocolate.

I'm leaving in four days, and of course, it's gone too fast. If anything, this has solidified plans to make a return visit in the future, kind of Walkabout Europe. Around this time of year, so I can see Le Tour (Lance Armstrong has an unbeatable lead, but our boy Robbie McEwan is doing well in the green jersey comp) in person, and catch up with those ficcers in the area who couldn't get to London. Basically not enough time and money, far too many places to go. But probably in a couple of years, so I'll have the money saved and the leave timed accrued.

Another ficcer interchange today, CynJen goes back home (but I was thrilled she made it - CJs are Of The Nifty) and a Jewels comes onto the ground. *chuckles* In a way this works, since it's all spread out and people don't have time to get sick of me. And I get to re-tell the same stories. ;) CJ and I have been exploring the difference between our two countries. Brits use more French names for things, for instance. Like snow peas. And eggplants. Which is bad for me, since I can't pronounce/spell French to save myself. *grins*

Not sure what we're up to today - it's pretty much a day-by-day planning thing, which is cool by me - but we will be going into the city to drop off CJ and meet Jewels. Maybe a movie.

Oh, and I got a tan yesterday in the Gardens.
