Post-Ride Easytime.

Well, we did the MTB ride up on McFarlane's Reserve, which isn't far from home (fortunately as it turns out!). Had a great time, bouncing over narrow tracks that were either made by people or cows, and going up hill and down dale. It's definitely on my "return" list, although I might give it a couple of days. You see, I had my first mountain bike accident. Nothing too major - I went over the handlebars trying to navigate down a rather steep and rocky path. My training kicked in and I managed to roll rather effectively - since I didn't land on my head - but being so rocky, I took off a bit of skin. Both elbows and my right knee. I've also got some bruises, but on the whole Icame through pretty well, and it'll drive home the need to sit back on the seat whilst going down steep declines.

Actually, I was rather pleased I'd rolled. Apart from the obvious reason of not landing on my head and having to get a new helmet, it shows that one of my lessor skills has sunk in enough to become automatic. I don't roll well, as a rule, at least not on purpose. I usually end up flat on my back, or bruised because I don't have the padding I used to have. :P But it's good to know it's instinctive when I need it. It would have gone better had my right foot detached from the pedal. Stupid cleats.

So it's a nice quiet night for me. Had a hot bath with tea tree oil added, to disinfect my grazes, and just finished watching Bladerunner: The Director's Cut on video, cuddled up on the couch in my Ecofleece jumper and cargo pants and purple woolly socks. And the house is nice and clean and tidy after my efforts this morning - I'm not sure how long that will last, but for now I'm going to enjoy it.

David, the one from the bushwalk, was on our ride this afternoon, and while he had to leave earlier than the rest of us, he did ask if I was going to the birthday BBQ planned for later tonight. Obviously not, since I'm here, but it was nice to have him ask. I told BRM that if he asks about me, to tell him to give me a call. And if he doesn't, I might just get in first. *naughty grin* He's a nice guy - friendly, funny, and with that practical streak I always seem to prefer - and cute besides. Bloody tall - taller than BRM, who's six foot, so I'd guess about six two. Sandy brown hair, blue eyes, I think. Not into sci-fi, unfortunately, but it's not like I want to marry the man. *grins* A little quiet, but not anti-people like BRM is sometimes, or was - I think it was due to the depression, because he's much more confident with people and social situations now. *nods* Yep, I'll give it a couple of days and then give him a ring and see if he wants to see a movie or something.

Hmm, still hungry - guess noodles weren't enough and I'm actually going to have to cook something. Bummer. *thinks* I suppose Basic Pasta Sauce isn't too much effort: onion, garlic, mushroom and capsicum, sauteed and then half a can of tomatoes added and simmered for fifteen minutes. The simmer time is the same time required to cook the pasta. Yep, that sounds good. So I'd better hobble off and do it. :)
