B12 facts.

Man, I wish I'd known some of this earlier. I've had a bunch of symptoms for a while - fatigue, weakness, nausea, loss of appetite, and weight loss, neurological changes such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet, difficulty in maintaining balance, depression, confusion, poor memory, and poor resistance to infection. None of them severe enough to be a problem until very recently, but all of those.

Most of the non-meat sources of B12 are things like eggs, milk and cheese. All of which I wasn't eating so much whilst travelling. I do eat a lot of cheese, but that's on the lowest end of the source scale. And the reason why it didn't show until now was that when you turn vegetarian as an adult, it an take a number of years to use up the stored supplies.

Hmm, maybe I should mention this to BRM - he eats less fish than I do, and that's the other source. That and Vegemite, that is. *grins* Lots of Vegemite toast for me, by the looks of it.

I'm not going to read too much more - I have my list of food sources, I have my spot-the-symptom thing going on, and if I do much more research I'm going to be convinced I have scarlet fever or something. *grins*
