Nearly there.
Twenty more minutes and I'm out of here. And not a moment too soon - I've been working my butt off all day with us being short-staffed and all, and I'm exhausted. It being the first day of my period, complete with cramping, doesn't help.
I ask you, why is it something which is a natural biological process should cause so much pain and inconvenience? Bloody design flaw, if you ask me.
Follow-up to the crazies of Caledonia Australis . I just got the following email from my boss:
Hello All,
Take extra care when dealing with applications for revocation or requests for Certified Court Extracts from defendants claiming to be part of the COMMONWEALTH OF CALEDONIA AUSTRALIS. Usually the application is a long, word-processed application relating to use of a trademark without permission and claims for compensation.
The applicants use addresses such as:
[edited for privacy reasons]
and are witnessed by [edited] (as Governor, Bishop or Prince).
The people involved with this organisation have harassed Magistrates, Police and others whom they become involved with. Several have been jailed and charged over false and harassing legal claims brought by them. If the defendant requests extracts see Tim or Julian. Under no circumstances give the name of any member of staff if you suspect individuals are connected with this organisation.
The saga continues. *grins*
This kind of thing isn't actually new to me in this job. It kind of comes with the territory; working in the court exposes you to a very special kind of insanity.
Oh, and the nuffie that called at 4.40pm yesterday and whinged at me about his fines and who said he'd be coming here in person today? No sign of him. *touches wood* Yet. It would, however, be just my luck that he'd turn up now wanting stuff to be done. :P Maybe I should make my escape now, before he does.
