Incoming survey! Run for the hills!

FULL NAME: Joanne Lee Howard.

WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? 'Joanne' is the name Mum wanted my grandmother to name her youngest daughter (my auntie Leanne), but since Nana wouldn't co-operate, she did it herself four years later. ;)

SCHOOL? *takes a deep, deep breath*

Primary:
Prep: Whorouly Primary School
Prep-Grade 1: Wodonga West Primary School
Grade 2-3: Myrtleford Consolidated.
Grade 4-5: Tanti Park Primary School (Mornington, Melbourne)
Grade 6: The Grange Primary School (Ingleburn, Sydney)

Secondary: Myrtleford High School, plus a year at Toyama Girl's Senior High School in Japan.

Tertiary: Melbourne University, for my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree, and half a Diploma of Social Research Methods.

MASCOT? He's more of a Muse than a mascot, but Frank, the small green lizard who lives on my desk, currently leaking sand everywhere.

NICKNAMES? Rossi, DeathPixie, Jo, Roz... I won't mention the ex-mooky nickname.

SIBLINGS: One: David *thinks* 29 and in Western Australia.

LAST MOVIE YOU SAW: Moulin Rouge - with Seraph and Yasmin.

FAVORITE SUBJECT: A toss-up between my high school English Literature class, and my university Psychology classes in third year.

LEAST FAVORITE SUBJECT: Maths - I am numerically dyslexic. Ask Raph; I still count on my fingers. ;P

BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND? *coughs* As if anyone passing by this journal in the last few months didn't know. No.

FAVORITE ACTRESS: Winona Ryder, especially in "Heathers" and Nadine Garner.

FAVORITE ACTOR: Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith!) and Ewan MacGregor.

FAVORITE MOVIE: "The Princess Bride", "Bladerunner" and "Brazil". Fancy expecting me to choose one. Feh.

FAVORITE TV SHOW: Babylon 5, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The Bill.

HOW LONG ARE YOU IN THE SHOWER? Generally not more than ten to fifteen minutes; I have easy-to-wash hair. Baths on the other hand...

FAVORITE VACATION PLACE: Erk, hard to say, there's so many places I haven't been to yet. I have a soft spot for Wilson's Promontory...

FAVORITE SCARY MOVIE: Aliens. Well, it scared me!

FAVORITE FOOD: BRM's risotto.

FAVORITE COLOR: Red.

BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD: Having someone tell you that they value you as a friend.

BILL CLINTON: Um, yeah? American ex-President, had trouble with his wandering hands. So?

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT: Lust, maybe. Love is more than just physical attraction, and that's all you get at first sight.

ABORTION: Should be available to those who choose to do it, but should never become a form of contraception. If you can't have sex without considering the repercussions, than you shouldn't be having it at all.

SMOKING: I've tried it, and it doesn't do a thing for me. Especially after seeing what it did to my mother - she had a slight stroke at 39 because of her smoking when she was younger. It's probably one of the most selfishly stupid things you can do, since it not only harms you, it harms those around you.

*WHEN YOU HEAR THIS NAME, WHO DO YOU THINK OF?*

Bob: Harras.

William: The Bloody.

Stacy: There was a guy in my high school called Stacey...

Dan: Quayle. *promptly washes mouth out with soap*

George: Bush. Damnit, why do I have American Presidents/politicians on the brain?

Matt: Nute. After having Raph here for the weekend, I'd be surprised if I didn't have this association.

Jessica: One of my Uncle Phillip's kids.

Heather: "Heathers", the movie. Very good black comedy.

Aaron: ... Zip.

Amy: Buffy - Amy the rat. ;)

Sarah: Another cousin, this one my Uncle Richard's daughter.

Britney: Spears. God help me.

DO YOU HAVE A JOB? The official title is Deputy Registrar of the Magistrates' (and County) Courts of Victoria. The description? "I am the grease in the wheels of justice". ;)

BELIEVE IN HEAVEN AND HELL? No - I tend to believe people make their own.

BELIEVE IN ANGELS? Only the fanfic one. ;)

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF? Usually, although, like everyone, I have my moments of self-doubt. Thankfully growing fewer and further between..

WANT TO GET MARRIED? No. Once I thought so, but now I think it's more important for me to be myself, without defining myself in terms of someone else.

WHAT DO YOU DO THAT PISSES OFF YOUR FRIENDS? Probably when I don't tell people when I'm feeling bad and bottle stuff up. I know Farli gets mad at me for that. ;)

WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS DO THAT PISSES YOU OFF? Don't believe me when I tell them they are good people to know.

YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT? Cafe Baloo in Russell Street.

YOUR FAVORITE HANGOUT: Where ever my friends are.

PEPSI OR COKE? Coke, for purely medicinal purposes.

BEVERLY HILLS OR DAWSON'S CREEK? Pass the eyeforks, if you please.

CHOCOLATES OR FLOWERS? Flowers - chocolate gives me zits, which defeats the purpose. ;)

SILVER OR GOLD? Both, but I prefer silver, especially when I have a tan.

WHAT WAS THE LAST PHONE # YOU CALLED? The Courtlink Helpdesk people, about a compensation matter that wouldn't print for me.

EVER BEEN ON A PLANE? Yes, quite often.

EVER BEEN OCEAN SWIMMING? Again, quite often. I once swam in the middle of Port Phillip Bay when I was nine.

EVER GONE SKINNY DIPPING? Not for a while, although the opportunity arises every year at the Portsea karate camp.

EVER CRIED IN PUBLIC? Embarrassingly so.

EVER LET A FRIEND CRY ON YOUR SHOULDER? Of course. That's what being a friend is about.

READ THE BIBLE? Yes, actually. Looks like I'd better turn in my "Heathen" membership.

GONE TO CHURCH? Again, yes. Several different ones, in fact.

CLIMBED A TREE? Oh yes. The last time was sometime last year, I think. ;)

GONE ALL NIGHT WITHOUT SLEEP? Not since first year university - it gets harder to recover the older you get.

BEEN TO CAMP? Last one was Camp Conestoga in Iowa as a camp cousellor and lifeguard.

BEEN TO A PRO BASEBALL GAME? No. But I have been to AFL football games.

KISSED A GUY? Yes. Although it's been a while between smooches.

KISSED A GIRL? Yes - the Gay and Lesbian Group at Uni was having an awareness thing, and they were inviting women to "Kiss a Dyke". So I did. :)

EATEN SUSHI? *whimpers* Sushi... I miss sushi. The closest place is over the river, too far away for lunch.

WANTED TO DIE? Went as far as rummaging through my drawers for my hayfever medication - figured that would do the trick if I took enough. But that was long, long ago.

MET A CELEBRITY: John Marsden and Victor Kelleher, both Aussie authors.

HAD AN ONLINE RELATIONSHIP? Not as yet. Unless you count the friends I've made online - I consider those 'relationships' since they're people I relate to. ;)
