Wintry blast...
Jun. 14th, 2001 04:44 pmWinter's decided to make its presence felt over the last week. Good thing Yasmin wasn't here today - there's a definite "snow" feel to the air, and I'm cuddled up in myyEcofleece thinking it's time to turn on the heater. Mind you, after spending so much time online today, I'm not surprised I'm cold. Sitting on your arse tends to cut circulation.
Half day today, cut even shorter by Pete letting me go home at 11.30 instead of 12. It's been quiet all week - the full-day protection application we had booked yesterday adjourned at the last minute, leaving me and the magistrate (Mr O'Day again) twiddling our thumbs. I hate not being busy - it makes the day drag dreadfully. Today wasn't much better; I ended up going through the cash books (at Pete's suggestion) and marking stuff off the printouts from the computer system. Yay. Much excitement.
But all in all I'm feeling veryygood. My parents knowing about my break-up is a huge relief, like I can finally start getting on with stuff again. I suppose it wasn't finally over until then, because there was always this assumption/illusion of us being together even though we weren't. Now I can relax when they visit, and not worry about letting something slip. And I don't have to tell those awful half-truths any more or make evasions. *heaves a sigh of relief* Yes, I feel much better.
And I changed my LJ! Mood icons and background. I got bored. ;) And I thought I'd worked out the HTML for links, but not quite. Dang.
I realised no-one's mentioned the wake up call on Sunday last. Shai rang at about 9.30 am, waking us all up, and getting a very confused Rossi phone answer. Raph had spoken to her barely two minutes before developing her American twang, and I had someone trying to tickle my feet whilst I was talking to her. And I'm pleased to note that Shai's own accent was noticably more Aussie after about half an hour. *evil grin* We are Australians. You will be assimilated. But it was a great surprise, and I'm hanging out to meet Shai and Epona come Dexcon.
Also got a lunch invite for Saturday. Lorelle (the friend of Greta's I met a few weeks ago) says there's a regular gathering of people at the Vegetarian Restaurant in Albury at 12.30 every Saturday. Sounds like a good time, so I'm going to ride over there. :)
