Cruising

I'm trying to have a low-key day today. And succeeding, mostly. It's Friday, it's casual, and I've got my lists up-to-date for the next three weeks, so I'm sitting here with a pile of revocations and listening to Moby and just generally chilling.

Big excitement yesterday here at Perin. Allie, the girl who moved here with me from Melbourne, is pregnant, due in January. So of course everyone is hovering around her, offering advice and food, cooing over things Baby, and just generally being supportive. Makes it hard for anyone else to have their say. *grins* She's thrilled, so I'm happy for her, as long as I don't have to listen to baby talk for hours on end and go ga-ga about booties.

I broke my self-imposed dry spell last night when the other Jo who drinks and Deb asked if I was interested in going to the Francis Hotel after work last night. It was nice, tho', chatting away and laughing and bitching (only a little) and before I knew it we'd had three jugs of beer between us and I was feeling kind of mellow. It took me forever to ride home - I was riding at a speed guaranteed to catch every red light on the way up Swanston Street, and kind of flaked out on the couch when I got home. If I'd known Angel wasn't going to start until 11pm, I would have taped it, but having stayed up that long figured I might as well. It wasn't really worth it, tho', after the trauma of this weeks' Buffy.

The late night meant I rolled (literally) out of bed at 7.55am and still managed to leave the house by 8.15 to catch the tram. I'm going out tonight, so I decided to tram in and hang around the city for a bit, instead of going home and coming back in again. I'm sure I can find someone from work who will keep me company for an hour and a half. ;)

Yep, I'm going to see Coldplay tonight with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. *cue happydancing* I can't wait. :)

Okay, time to refill the tea mug and get back to the business of revoking fines (I almost typed "revolting fines" then, which is pretty much what they are as well). ;) At least it's a choice to do them now, rather than the only job I do.
