Look around you right now and name 3 things you can see in the room you're in that make you smile/happy, even if it is just the tiniest little bit!

I spy with my little eye in my work cubicle right now...

1) The ceramic teddy bear statue my co-worker Peta gave to me as a thank you for helping her section out and for being her shoulder massage slave.

2) A nectarine. I love nectarines. I've been sniffing it, anticipating sweet, juicy goodness.

3) The Rememberance Day poppy I bought on the way into work today. Not quite Rememberance Day yet (11th November), but I always try and buy one. It's currently sitting on my computer with my "No War" badge - the two go rather well together, I think.

Something on my desk that doesn't make me happy right now is the file from a particular nuffy who I have to call back today. I've been putting it off all morning, mainly because it doesn't matter what I tell him, he's still going to yell at me. :P

Ah well, might as well bite the bullet and get it over and done with.

Oh, and I'm shifting desks today, back over to revocations. New work number to be posted in a locked post following.

Awww. Poppies. I always make a point to get one- this is the first year I haven't in as long as I can remember. It irks me that they don't do poppies in the States. So much for 'lest we forget'. >.

It was also mainly a WWI thing (originally, at least- hence November 11), which the US only got involved in at the end. So I guess it makes sense, that way. I just like the sentimental value of the poppies (and yes, I can still reel off the poem), and I wish the US had something at least *like* it (since I'm stuck here). The closest thing they've got are barbecues on Memorial day. Barbecues just aren't as sentimental as poppies. :P
