Porn plays a role in fandom, as does 'ship fic, but honestly, when a fandom becomes all porn/'ship, it becomes incredibly boring after a while. It's like anything - I get bored by a lot of the superhero comics these days because it's nothing but action and explosions. Again, these are good things, but not when they're done to death.
