Fuck the phone companies.

Hah. And they said privitising the phone system would give us better service. Better service, arse.

As some of you will remember, the previous tenants of my new abode were inconsiderate bastards and took the phone with them when they left. In Australia phones belong to the dwelling, like the phone line, and you pay rental for the use unless you want to buy your own. So last Friday I arranged (finally) for a new one to be delivered to a local place for me to pick up today.

"Yes, that's all fine, the phone will be available for you to pick up by Friday at the Telstra Shop on Queen St," the customer service wanker told me.

But guess what happened when I took myself down there today? NO FUCKING PHONE!

And when I call to complain I'm told the only thing they can do is order another one and arrange for me to pick it up at another location, this time a post office. In four to five working days.

Monday is a public holiday here (Australia Day). This means I won't have a phone until next Friday, making it two bloody weeks without phone access at home.

And meanwhile the messages on my message bank are sitting there unanswered because the number I have only works from the home phone! I know this because I've tried to use it from work. And all my searches fail to give me any other numbers.

I'm so pissed off right now I can't see straight. Pardon me whilst I take it out on some unsuspecting revocation applications.

On behalf of Telstra, who I work for (but not in Sales), I would like to offer apologies. I know that doesn't help, but I must admit the entire company is a mob of incompetant bastards trained in expertly passing the buck :-/
