Last night I dreamt I had a kitten. It was half-grown, black, and apparently possessed by Satan.

There's symbology here, but buggered if I know what it is.

I tend to treat dreams like free showings of completely unknown and potentially fun films. I've never understood why the one I keep seeing involves an aircraft suddenly plummeting to earth, though.

My prof who was into dream-discussion and analysis would tell you to think about how you felt towards the kitten, I think...

Dream

This type of dream represents your instinctive rather than intellectual nature. Animals often symbolise parts of our selves or our personalities that are around in our waking lives.

The satanic side of the dream symbolizes evil and temptation, and also suggests suppressed 'bad' feelings and sexual urges.

The important part however is that of color. Black is a hint of the need to explore the deeper side of yourself, your subconcious. The blackness of the kitten can represent depression and in extreme cases even death - not necessarily of a person, but of an idea or phase in your life. This could represent a new phase in your life, a time for exploration and change for the better.

Black can also represent a place of hiding, is there anything lacking warmth or color in your life? Is there uncertainty? Has a phase of mourning just been completed? or is something ending or about to end?

This dream symbolises the chance to gain something positive if you use it as a basis for your own personal development.

Letting go of the past, looking toward the future!

As I'm in the mood for commenting on Dreams, thought I'd do yours too (hope you don't mind).

In life an aircraft is a quick way to get from one place to another, a fast journey. Freud would suggest it has a sexual connotation; wild unadulterated abondonment, excitement and desire for release.

The aeroplane crashing indicates feelings of helplessness is the face of things to come, beyond your control, usually indicating a major change in your future.

Here's to the future! Good Luck!

It was half-grown, black, and apparently possessed by Satan.

*grins* You think it might have had anything to do with a certain X-journal character that's been living in your head recently?

I dated a raging Freudian once. This proved to be a mistake.

Given that I tend to see an aircraft in real life as Greyhound with extra terror involved, I'm not sure that this explanation applies.
