Activity crack dealer strikes again!

Phil is now quite comprehensively hooked on the indoor climbing - we went down to Victoria Ranges in Flemington on Saturday and climbed for a good solid hour and a half. It doesn't sound much, I know, but beyond a couple of warm up and warm down easy climbs, the ones we were tackling were at the upper limits of our respective ranges. Which aren't so different, actually, despite the fact I've been climbing longer - Phil's got a lot of natural climbing talent and I'm really going to have to lift my game if he gets some training whilst I'm away. Must find a gym in Toronto, I think - it'll give me something to do when Dex and Mel are at work, and it's a good way to meet people. If I can't get a buddy, I can always boulder - no belay needed. Or I can drag Dex along. *eg*

Actually, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], an idea for the summer/early autumn next year - Mt Arapalies has climbing guides for hire for a couple of hundred dollars for the weekend - all the equipment for outdoor climbing, plus instruction and someone to do the stuff I don't know yet, like lead climbing. Could be a thought for a weekend, something to get you _really_ hooked - live rock is a whole different world to the gyms.
