Progress
With the immigration application, that is. I've booked the medical and paid the deposit. The examination is going to cost me $250, hopefully including postage of the results to the appropriate people (since I don't get given the results...), but it's booked and ready to be done. I've got no problems with the results - despite the odd bout of 'flu, I'm the healthiest I've been for a while, and there's nothing nasty lurking that I know of. Chest x-ray as well. They're going the whole hog...
I'm going to experiment with fingerprints later today, so I can get the police check sent off - it's cheaper if you provide prints - $103. *sighs* Looks like it's going to be a quiet New Year for me - can't afford to do anything once I pay all this off, with the bike service costing almost $250 as well... And my next pay is pretty much going entirely on the credit card, barring living expenses, since that's how I'm paying for all of this right now. I just wish that damn backpay would come though - we're still waiting on it from early September, I think. Stupid sheriffs, holding everything up. :P
Still, I keep telling myself, they wouldn't be asking me to lash out on all this stuff if I hadn't already qualified, and that was the stuff I was worried about, rather than the medical and police check. So hopefully this time next year, I'll be living in Canada.
