Progress
Hear that sound? It's the sound of events slotting themselves into place...
I got my police history results back today, which means I can forward them onto the immigration department tomorrow, if I catch the post office early enough. And I contacted the doctor's office where I got the medical done, and they've sent the results off to the office in Singapore two days ago. The email I got from the immigration people said it would take about eight weeks to process all the medical stuff, so that, plus about a week for the mail, and my estimate of May for finding out is looking pretty accurate.
If it's good news, could be quite the birthday present.
It's difficult not to get excited about this. The two last things I had to do are almost done, and I'm pretty confident about those results - my health and non-existent police record were the last of my worries. I'm still looking at September/October for the move - there's no way in hell I'll have my debts here paid off and the air fare etc saved up before that, plus I need time to arrange things. So definitely will be missing Dexcon, but hey, I'll be in Toronto for two years after that, so it's not like you're missing out that much. *grins*

I requested the time off for Coochie today. I figured that since there's a hold on all transfers out of Perin until after they sort out this qualification crap (the enterprise bargaining agreement fiasco continues...) I might as well get some advantage out of it, like getting that time off, something that's a lot easier than trying to get it at Melbourne Magistrates', for example. Next step is booking the tickets, but I'll have to wait until next pay day for that - still chipping away at that credit card bill. Nearly got it below $2000 now...
Basically I'm hanging on until I hear about the visa - I have two months' long service leave accrued that I need if I do get the visa. Time to sort myself out, basically. If I don't get it, well, I'm takingthat two months and running with it to Brisbane.
