Rosy and Grey...
Actually, that's a good summing-up of today. Outside it's grey, a bit cool, a bit blah. Inside, I'm sitting at my coputer chatting with friends and feeling generally rosy inside. :) Although that may have something to do with the giant cup of brewed coffee BRM just gave me. Honestly, you could just about swim in this.
And just to complete the mood, I have the Weddings Parties Anything version of the song on. ;)
Busy day yesterday, which is why there wasn't a post from me. I headed over to Albury for the Veggie Group lunch, only to find they weren't there. 'No worries', I thought, 'I might as well look for that top while I'm over here.' 'Here' being Albury, where the better shops are.
See, When I was getting together my Trinity outfit, I bought myself a pair of soft fuzzy black pants - not perfect for Trinity, but I couldn't find vinyl anywhere - whic I rather like because they're comfy and make my legs look longer than they are. ;) And they're not jeans, of which I have many pairs and wear all the time. So I'm intending to take them with me to Dexcon. Only, I wanted to find a top to go with them, that wasn't black ('cause I have the Trinity top already) and was something a bit different from my usual t-shirt/plain shirt look.
*grins* Spot the mid-life crisis. Next I'll be joining a commune and seeing auras.
Anyway, there I am, about to indulge in That Which Rossis Fear and Hate Most Of All - clothes shopping. Voluntarily. Alone. And somehow I managed to score the weekend of Many Sales - every clothing outlet in Albury was engaged in a pitted sales war, which meant that I had all sorts of choices. Just as well I'm almost broke at the moment, or I would have come home with far more than I did. As it was, I ended up with two tops, and a new bra and some underwear - boring, but necessary, believe me. There's no point having your favourite sexy pants on if your undies are all saggy and the elastic's gone. ;) It just spoils the whole moment. But I've got a long-sleeved t-shirt to wear on the plane over to Dexcon which should do both climates (because I'm leaving from Melbourne in winter, and arriving in Toronto in summer) and a very nice burgandy coloured tank-top to wear one night during the Con. *grins* No, I'm not giving you a description. You lot can just wait for the photos. Needless to say, it's something I can't wear here at the moment without getting hypothermia.
Once I slooowly rode home (mental note, put some more oil on that bloody chain!) I logged on, to find Lorelle had left an email asking me if I wanted to go to dinner with the Veggie Group that evening. After bouncing emails back and forth, we made the appropriate arrangements and off I went to have a shower and get dressed, as I was slobbing it in tracksuit pants and a rugby shirt. *looks at self* What I'm wearing now, actually. *snerks* I am such a disappointment to those perverts that ask you what you're wearing, because there is nothing sexy about this. ;)
Where was I? Yes, dinner. Excellent. At the vegetarian place we went to last weekend for lunch. And I met some more of the Group, and they were interesting people. Got a lead on a possible Tai Chi class, run by someone from the Taoist Centre, which is another funny coincidence considering recent journal entries. I'm not sure about the Centre - I have a wariness of organised religion of any type - but the Tai Chi might be a goer.
But a very lazy day today, as a result of all my activity yesterday. ;) Just chat and the journals and AIM and large cups of coffee. And long showers - I seem to have strained my back somehow, and the hot water is good for it. Actually, a bath might also help, although I suspect what I need is a new desk chair and a massage. Chances of either are pretty slim.
Had a shock when I took some money out for dinner last night - my account's down to $300-odd. Which is a couple of hundred less than I'd calculated. I get paid next Wednseday, but it's still not good. Looks like I'm going to have to make that call about that money I've got invested and cancel the account. *sighs* I hate money. And I think I'm going to have to get new contact lenses - my eyes are a bit red and sore after using them last night, which indicates an infection of some kind. Bugger.
Well, that's it for now. No musings - brain's all fuzzy. ;)
