Early! Too bloody early!

You know how when you have to wake up strangely early, and it's important and you worry about sleeping through the alarm, so you don't sleep well and end up waking up before the alarm? That's what I did this morning, with a wonderful little dreamlet about man-eating fish. Something that wouldn't freak me out if I saw it in a movie or whatever, but in my head? Scared the crap out of me.

Still, got to work okay - waking at 5am is _weird_. At least the roads were nice and deserted as I rode in, and it wasn't actually that cold at all...

Things are starting to pick up - I'm actually getting phone calls. Plus the surprise grieving relatives at 6:30 this morning. Bloody police didn't tell them to _call_ before showing up, and once they were here I couldn't really send them away without seeing the person they wanted to see. Gah.

See? I told you early mornings aren't _that_ bad ;) And St Kilda road at that time of day is actually a pleasure to ride along.

Welcome to the world of strange office hours. :) Hope you felt okay during the day and didn't get too tired. Usually after about the third day you start sleeping better. Oh! Suggestion, and the thing I do for waking up at 4am. Set your mobile phone alarm as well as your normal alarm and stick your mobile phone by your head. That way you won't worry so much about sleeping through as you'll have two things beeping you.
