I'm not dead, only resting...
Very, very quiet weekend, which is why there was no post from me yesterday. That and the fact that every time I started one, chat would get interesting and I'd be distracted and forget what I'd been saying. ;) I'm easy to distract - just waev an interesting conversation in front of me and off I go. Probably the reason why I tend to stick to only a couple of chat channels at a time - don't have the focus for several wondows all at once. And with IRCle, I need to keep alert so I don't send private messages public. Now _that's_ embarassing.
Home today because I slept through my alarm. It's all Mel's fault - she shouldn't be so interesting and fun to talk to on the phone. Before either of us knew it, it was 12.30 and both of us had work in the morning. Of course, turns out that neither of us has actually gone to work today - I called and arranged to work Friday morning instead, and Mel went in, felt sick, and went home. So now we're both back in chat, plotting things as a continuation of last night.
Yesterday was actually quite creative in the fic stakes. I wrote and posted my first ever Buffy fic (on CTL, should you be interested) as a prezzie for Mel and Sascha's new archive, Them Little Marshmallows. And I've gotten feedback already from Trisha, which makes me very happy. I am a feedback junkie - once I post, I need my fix.
Of course, my foray into Buffy fic won't end there, not if the Corner folks have anything to do with it. *grins* Two ideas floating at the moment, although one's got more of my attention than the other, mainly because I'll be co-writing it. Falstaff and I are looking at a Buffy/Hellblazer crossover, with the emphasis on Giles, rather than the Buffster. Set around season four, when Giles was having his mid-life crisis. ;) Nothing like John Constantine to wake you up from self-absorption, of only because you have to save your neck. The other idea is a kind of Common People fic based in the Buffyverse - I had this thought of "A Day In The Life of a Sunnydale Ambulance Officer". It's stems from the scene in "The Body" episode where the ambos mention how busy they are, and my brain overlaid Bringing Out The Dead (excellent, although rather bleak, movie) in Sunnydale. *grins* Another for the "eventually' pile.
Mel and I have also hatched out a most strange RR idea too - Aussies/Kiwis only. We were talking about the tendency for us antipodeans to muck around with the heroic thing and what would happen if we had just Aussies involved. So now THOSD has a Shed. I'll see if I can knock out the first post this afternoon, after tweaking Sparrow's endpost for TSJHTF. With permission. :) I talked to her in chat. Which is good, sicne it gives me a chance to get rid of all those pesky Keys that are lying around, causing trouble. ;) So Ana, you might want to check this out. *grins*
Enough for now - I'll post again later, when I have more to say. :) Although Imade my next eye appointment - 2.30 Thursday afternoon. Wish me luck on that day, 'kay?
