Moments of Utter Mundanity
So, this afternoon I stuffed one of my packs with laundry and walked down to the laundromat. It's a nice walk, going past High Park, and I've never been one for aimless walking - I have to have a Purpose. So laundry it was, and quite a lot of laundry too - took me about two and a half hours from go to woah. Although part of that is to blame on McKenzie's pub, a pint of Keith's and Neil Gaimain's Anansi Boys which I've borrowed from [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] via the roomie - I got caught up in all three and let time sneak away a bit.
It's weird, but the walk back, load of freshly cleaned and folded laundry on my back, detergent bottle swinging from my hand and what is apparently [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s last batch of music on Dex's mp3 player in my ears, it began sinking in. This, for all intents and purposes, is going to be home now. For a couple of years, at the very least. And while my family and many of my friends are very far away right now (which reminds me, must call the folks after this), that's not such a bad thing.
Even in moments of utter mundanity there is a kind of grace. :)

And that's a wonderful thing. :)
Speaking of second-homes...I assume you guys are hitting the B&B before it closes/reopens? Is it going to have some kind of closing thing?
Could you possibly take some pictures, if so? :) I do have so many memories of that building, definitely going to miss it.

*grins* It's been on there forever now...
Weird to realize you're home, isn't it? Even if it doesn't totally feel like home yet. ;)
