Schtuffies...

Just a quickie entry, as it's late and I have an appointment early tomorrow morning. Yes, I was dumb enough to make an apointment for 9am on my sleep-in morning. D'uh me.

Just got back from my book discussion thingie, which was rather fun. Someone had made and brought sushi, and I carefully positioned myself for easy access. (mental note: if you don't want to appear a total pig at these things, eat before attending and don't sit in front of the sushi!) Our book tonight was The 1000 Acres, which was also a film with Michelle Pfeiffer. I'd impressed myself, picking the book up only yesterday afternoon after work and manging to read it before the session which started at 7.30 pm. We discussed, we ate, we drank, and had a good time. Although I think I have to make sure I don't take over the talk - it's hard, because there's always so many ideas bouncing in my head. Shades of my English Lit. classes in high school.

I also got two things knocked off my Dexcon "To Do" list. I got the train ticket down to Melbourne for next Wednesday, and I rang and confirmed my flights. And they have me down as a veggie, which is good. Last time I'd forgotten to check that, and I spent the trip over begging for people's side-order vegetables. Eye appointment tomorrow (just to make sure things are hoopy) will make another, and I'm planning to pack on Sunday, as I'm working the next three days all day and get too tired to do stuff like that.

*dances happily* Eight (seven and a half, really) days to go. I feel like a bottle of champagne, all fizzy and bubbly inside.

Tour Update: Stewie has lost the yellow jersey (as expected) as the Tour moves into the mountain stages. He's now tenth overall. The last two stages were won by Lance Armstrong in a most impressive manner (the man is a cycling machine!), and he's rapidly approaching the current leader, Francios Simon. Brad McGee came twenty-fifth in yesterday's stage, quite impressive for a bloke whose career has until recently involved riding around in circles around a velodrome.

Bed now. Take it easy.
