And now for something completely different...

*breaks into the Monty Python's Flying Circus theme* An actual post of more than a paragraph! Now with less whinging!

So, today I woke up and i wasn't dizzy. I wasn't tired. I didn't have a headache. Okay, I felt kind of sick eating breakfast, but I ate it any way. But yeah, for the first time in a couple of weeks I didn't feel blah. I have no idea why - maybe taking my B12 before I went to bed was a factor - but yeah, it was nice. Lasted until lunchtime since I was in the photocopying room correcting an error in fifteen Books of Documents, but hey, it's the first time in a couple of weeks I've felt normal. Normal was great. *wry*

So, the thing that's kept me insanely busy at work for the last couple of weeks is a big case against a local branch of a labourers' trade union. This is the case that's been running for three years and whose files currently occupy an entire room. In the last month it's been put into trusteeship (again) and they're fighting it, which means reams of faxes, photocopying, correspondence and running to stupid deadlines. It's actually starting to turn into a John Grisham novel - the stuff I was working on today had references to organised crime being involved with the executive, and in the past there's been threats. I seem to remember filing some summonses relating to the arrest on criminal charges of people.

This weekend's a long weekend, on account of it being Victoria Day on Monday. As far as I can tell from the pictures of Queen Victoria accompanying various media, it's a bit like Queen's Birthday weekend back home. Any way, three day weekend and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], Johnny, Mindy and I are heading up to London for the annual bonfire and party, leaving Saturday evening and getting back sometime Monday. Should be a lot of fun, although I can't see myself playing up too much given the precarious state of my balance lately. :P

Otherwise, life has been pretty much next verse same as the first. Work, taking it easy at home, stuff on weekends. We played D&D last Saturday, which was a lot of laughs as usual and hey, no-one died! *snickers* Even with the random Giant Octopus that for some reason lived in a salt marsh. I haven't had a guitar lesson for about three or four weeks on account of Johnny being away and then insane busy. Oh! That reminds me - Johnny Devil and the Screaming Demons make their triumphant return to the Yellow Griffin Tuesday night. So yeah, probably won't be that functional on Wednesday, but it's for a good cause. We miss the band, we do.

Dexcon registrations have increased, but we're still nine short of what would be the best for us in terms of fees. So yeah, go forth and pimp, people. Thanks to all who have registered so far - I'm looking forward to seeing you all in July.

See, that's what happens when you grow up the daughter of a minister in London. You miss out on all the cool underground crime.

I, on the other hand, had a stepmother who worked family law in St. Thomas. The stories sound like they're straight out of Beruit some of them.
