Dexcon: doing my share of the pimping thing

There's a poll regarding Dexcon-related Swag going on here. If you're going and want Swag, go and vote for the Swag you want.

Registration will open APRIL 1, 2007, on the Dexcon website. Once registration's open, I'll be posting the addy again, but in the meantime, go ahead and bookmark it any way. You'll need to register for the site, so might as well do that now, eh?

Aussies who are intending to go, I'm planning a dinner for us after the Con itself - be sure to let me know how long you're all staying, since Auscon hasn't happened for a year or so and this is the next best thing. ;)

I'm doing the Vancouver-Shanghai leg of the trip home on the 8/8 although I can, since I haven't paid for anything, bump that back to the 10th or the 11th and just...not spend any money on the last two days which means I'd then have to do the Shanghai-Melbourne part on Monday the 13th. All of which means that I'm currently down to leave Toronto on Tuesday the 7th. I CAN do that on the 8th, though.

Uh, the one thing is that I do plan to do the Toronto-Vancouver flight a day in advance, though, since flights to and from Brisbane even are painful, so I'd be better off doing it over two days. Or seeing if I can con some panadeine forte out of the docs before i head off...

The other thing is that I have to adjust my flights anyway because I'm quite possibly a moron who had herself down to leave Canada on the 2/8, when Dexcon STARTS. ...yeah, moron. ;)

Gah. It's going to have to be leaving the 8/8. I can stock up on painkillers if I need to and do the whole thing in one day. I'm sorry if this makes organising the dinner hard.

Usually it closes around mid-July, but even that's not for sure. Main thing is the longer you wait, the less likely I am to get the swag for you.

Oh, that's all good then. *grins* I just have to make sure that I can afford to, you know, have plates and a bed and stuff where I live. But I should know my full work situation by late April/early May, and if I can, damn right I'm going this year.

No flights booked yet, but Amanda and me will be sticking around for a couple of days after DexCon itself before heading off, so will be good for an all-Aussie catch-up.

Cool! Does this mean we get to be all elitist and tell people they're only allowed to join us if they can name at least six different types of Australian beer? ;)
