In a way, I wish our discussion /had/ been public because I think we managed to resolve the situation really well but then since it had just been between us it didn't help anyone else who was having the same problem I was.

Except that if we'd done it on the list it wouldn't have been quite so sane so...I don't know. How do you manage to keep civility and sanity on a group post?
