Musings on the edge of sleep.
Just checking in on my way to bed - I've got a long week ahead of me, with court every day for the rest of the week. Me in that not-so-large brown room without natural lighting and the uncomfortable chair. Gah. So I need to be rested for it.
I've spent a large portion of this evening plugged into the Book through my headphones, listening to the Lilith Fair CDs Yasmin left as I ripped and burned them. *grins* After IceWing was talking about how the fact he listens to boybands and Brittney Spears is an indication of his sexuality, it makes me wonder what someone might think about mine - I've been stocking up on the 'feminist folk' type stuff lately. Tori Amos, Diana Ah Naid, Beth Orton and the Indigo Girls. "Whiny white girl" music, as BRM calls it. *chuckles*
It's odd, watching the news with headphones on. Images of destruction and despair, followed by fire trucks outside the Australian Taxation Office in Melbourne and people being decontaminated - yes, the 'mysterious white powder' packages have hit us too. Cut to John Howard and Kim Beazeley arguing at each other across a soundstage. Twisted metal from a multi-car pile-up near Yarrawonga. Without the narration, the commentary, things seem to have more impact. There's no distraction from the image - I have to make up my own mind what's happening, based purely on what I see.
I called Dex today, to check up some stuff for AussieCon and maybe catch Shai. Alas, the saga continues, as she was at JB's place, and after a couple of hours talking to Dex and Gerg, I won't have the financial resources to make another international call on this bill. I still have the call to Farli to come. *eeps* So, if you still need to get hold of me, mate, how about calling me on thie weekend? Since I won't be home until four-thirty (probably more, with the lists the way they are) every day this week. Or you could just email me. ;)
And there are two new posts to the Reality Strikes! RR, and a Meta thread requesting clarification of people's studies/year levels. RR people, go, read, answer. I could go through all the posts again and find it out myself, but not now - now, I sleep.
