Psychosomatic?

*sigh*

It's getting to the point I'm starting to wonder if I'm somehow doing this on purpose.

Wednesday - rejoin gym.

Thursday - fitness test.

Friday - 'flu of the nasty high temperature sort.

Every bloody time I try to do something to get fitter, I get sick. I swear, I'm starting to hate my immune system almost as much as I hate the fat rolls.

I got sick the week after I started TKD - lots of new germs, in a few place working out, and you get them all at once without any slow buildup. A lot of people get sick their first month at a new job or school too.

Could you do something to get fitter that is *fun* ... so you can trick your body into behaving?

Acourse ... look who'se talking. I just started cranking away on a expensive-but-bought-used road bike, trying to get myself ready for a century ride some time this year ... and I managed to bruise my hand through improper handlebar placement. Owch.

How over your last flu were you? It could simply be a flair up of the previous one if it wasn't completely done with.

If your immune system is tanked, I'd suggest starting slow with walking or some light jogging to get it back in the groove. There was a point when mine bailed along with my stamina, making all efforts to get back into shape miserably slow, but cranking things up in slow and gradually increasing incriments helped a lot.
