All dressed up and somewhere to go.

All ready for the dinner thing tonight, just waiting on my lift, which isn't due for another half an hour. *grins* When I have only myself to worry about, I'm painfully punctual. Dad's "Prepartion and Planning" lecture when I was a kid has definitely sunk in.

I got told the dress code was "neat casual", so I'm wearing my new dark blue jeans and a nice top, the tight white one with the black daisies on it. And my Trinity boots, the ones I wore at the Dexcon dinner. I need to break them in, and the best way is to wear them. :P Even put some nice dangly silver earrings in. *grins* I have to admit, I look good. It's taken a while to get over the baggy t-shirt thing - I got so much shit about the way I looked as a teen I had major body image issues that have taken ten years to get over - but I can honestly look in the mirror and be happy with the result. No more hiding under baggy clothes; after all the work I put into getting fit, at least I can show off. *giggles*

I got the chance to watch an old favourite movie today, on cable: Some Kind Of Wonderful. Mary Stuart Masterston rocks. *grins* Now there's a pixie-person. The movie itself is kinda corny, but it's fun, and has that nice little message about remaining true to yourself which was always such a help in high school. I can remember the first time I saw it: in Japan. I think I watched it three times - they used to run movies on a cycle and you could just go and watch the same one over and over without buying another ticket. And of course there's The Quote:

"Remember I said I'd rather be with someone for the wrong reasons than alone for the right ones? I'd rather be right."

*grins again* I love that movie. :)
