Watching the clock
Technically I should be able to take off now - the door's locked, the money's safely in the safe and all I need to do is hit the lights and switch off my computer - but silly me agreed to stay on until five to allow the police next door to use one of the court rooms for a meeting of some kind. D'uh me. Actually, the official closing time is five, and it's always a good idea to keep someone around in case someone from Melbourne Court calls and checks in.
Ah, it's wonderful working for the most paranoid department in the State.
Any way, I managed to get a fair bit of email answered, although the phone got on the nerves a bit after a while, ringing as it did every ten minutes. Still, things got done, and there were no great hassles. In a way, I prefer having the place to myself - sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't take on one of those one-person courts when I get back. Then I remind myself they're even more remote than here and I'm already climbing the walls with boredom. ;)
*urges the clock to go faster* C'mon, I wanna go home! Or to mum and dad's, at least.
