Progress

Things that have been achieved in the last few days:

1) Pay rise! The one I mentioned about a month ago? We finally got the backpay, and after tax and a nice hefty chunk of HECS debt got taken out (I can't believe I'm still paying for university! They should have a scheme where you only have to pay if your course actually gets you a job :P), I still have $500 extra this pay. And apparently there's some more to come in a fortnight. I'm also on a massive $18.28 an hour, go me!

2) Phone! It was there when I went to pick it up! So now I have somewhere to pre-program my most-frequently called numbers and I can return Peta's loaner phone to her.

3) Bike delivery! I've gotten both parental bikes down to the ex's workplace bike shop for sale and they're now out of my hands.

Things yet to be achieved:

1) Haircut! Well, a trim, any way. My fringe is driving me insane.

2) Bed! With my bonus, I'm planning to go out and purchase myself a bed. Haven't done it so far because I keep having stuff to do on weekends.

3) Karate! I meant to go tonight, really I did. Only fate and the Pill has it that Wednesday is also First Day of Period Day, and I was on front counter duty. The two do not make a good combination. Monday, I swear.

4) Jobs! More applications to do, coutesy of [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], and I also intend to scope out possibilities for weekend/evening work to aid me in my quest for Dexcon this year. I'm feeling my luck has changed, so it's a good time to do it.

5) Food! For I am starved.

But is there training on Monday? Mike seems to be suggesting on the website that there's only training on Wednesdays now.

Hmm... I'll be there if you go... :P

Actually, there's definitely not any on, since Steve told me that too.

Btw, have you read Lois Bujold McMaster? (ie. did PollyMel convert you during NYE?)

Ah, well, I don't have any actual paper books. I'm going to get some shipped from Toronto, methinks. My friend works at Chapters, and such is the scandalous price of books here that it's cheaper for me to ship them half way around the world. (It could perhaps have something to do with her 30% discount.) I do have the electronic books, but you'd have to swear never to copy them... I adore Baen far too much for their sensible open standard policy ... hang on, do you read stuff on screen anyway?

I'm working at Royal Melbourne Hospital for the next couple of weeks, but could definitely take a long lunch sometime. (I'm on a casual rate, so it doesn't really matter when I work.) Do you have much of a lunch break?

Mmm... I will indeed bring your Gaiman back. I'm beginning to start craving the graphic novels! :)

And I like the Endless... they're nice people. Or at least, interesting.
