Circle of friends meme-thing

This one comes from [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], one of the new people I met at [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s wake. It was really fitting, I thought, that I'd come away from that with new people I wanted to stay in touch with, at least via LJ. So very Kielle, I think.

Any way, USCJ (as opposed to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] who is UKCJ) has this meme up. Considering how many of my friends list I've actually met, it works. Although, online together memories also work.

Leave one memory of you and me together. It doesn't matter if I know you a little or a lot, anything you remember! Next, post this in your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

Peeling you off the Brooklyn Bridge, which you were trying to climb.

You, me and [livejournal.com profile] philf, in that pub in Enfield Town after a walk around the old church and sitting outside the civic centre discussing Neil Gaimen and Sandman and Constantine. You know, that lunch that lasted for 8 hours when we were talking about anything and everything. <3

USCJ! *laughs* I like that.

Well, guess it would have to be the memory I have of listening to you speak at the Wake. Your accent was lulling me into a sense of charmed bliss, I think!

I've very grateful to have had the chance to meet you - there were a couple of intersecting circles of friends there, betwixt the CFAN and the LOTR folk, and I really like that people are blending more into one circle. The Lady would have approved. :)

Wandering Melbourne with you, Berni, and Phil after ONE bar had closed; while WE were intending to go back to our hotel to get sleep before our flight, SOMEONE had to find a group of blokes with funny accents and follow them into the bar that looked like the weird vampire porn lair. And then you broke my rib.

This was when you were in Melbourne, yeah? So I've got this feeling that I was there and that the barman cut me off, in the goth bar. Mostly, I remember the hangover of Death the next morning.

...and that was me, only I'd forgotten to log in.

Sitting on the steps of the British Museum with you and Farli, and I played with your lizard keyring and your HOSD key (didn't Kielle do that for you?) and talking about your uni and Japan years.

[identity profile] aliciam.livejournal.com 2005-10-26 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Sitting at a little table at the back of the St. Lawrence Market and talking all afternoon.

[identity profile] pollymel.livejournal.com 2005-10-26 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude. One memory? Okay, one totally without any particular significance, because there are too many for any particular importance.

"Hello!"

"Oh! You're home! What're you doing at home? Isn't this bookclub night?"

(also the glee that your package brought me earlier)

[identity profile] pollymel.livejournal.com 2005-10-27 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. Now I am all guilty. In future I'll try to book my breakages in advance. Possibly send out an itinerary and a reminder... ;) My plan that evening had been to leave you feedback on your message bank. Which you foiled by being at home. *sniffs* Some people are so inconsiderate.

[identity profile] pollymel.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
But only in the good way.

[identity profile] threnody.livejournal.com 2005-10-27 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
I remember sitting alone with you in the lobby of the Holiday Inn on King at whichever Dexcon it was I went to, smiling and nodding and feeling terribly embarrassed and not sure how to tell you I could only understand every tenth word you were saying.

*shame, not least of which for the horrendous run-on sentence*

[identity profile] icewing.livejournal.com 2005-10-27 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I could pick online ones, but I'll go with a real life one.

You, sitting about 2 feet from where I'm presently sitting and us talking for hours while Gerg and Jason were upstairs. Like we'd known each other for years.

It's AAAAAALL about the drop-bears ...

[identity profile] khanfused.livejournal.com 2005-10-27 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
... well, ok, we DID talk about a lot more than that this last weekend ... but it's a good headline, and I'll take those whenever I can get them. ;-)

[identity profile] seraangel.livejournal.com 2005-10-27 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
You, me & Mel standing out on your back porch in the house at Wodonga and talking while we watched the stars. :)

[identity profile] seraangel.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. *grins* And us wondering why we were hanging out in the cold but still not going inside.

[identity profile] pollymel.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh, guys? I have bare feet, and I can't feel them or my knees any more... can we go inside? *pleeeaaaasee?*"

[identity profile] qodarkness.livejournal.com 2005-10-27 10:12 am (UTC)(link)
Synchronised sleeping in a single bed in a hot Toronto hostel. Seriously, did we turn over at the same time or did we just never move?

To just pick one at random? You were still in the Brunswick place and it was just after the GASP there and you, me, Phil and Mel went to the Quarry and stinking drunk and then ended up getting takeaways and curry stains on your couch.

[identity profile] pollymel.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Was I even there? If I was, how drunk was I? I don't remember anything... Wait. Maybe. curry? I dunno. Was I drunk? Do I not remember because I was not drunk?

What? What's going on, who are you people?

You were drinking red wine at the pub. This is after we'd stuck Andraste on the tram to head home. I'm almost certain you were there. Or at least, I was certain. now I'm not. I think we'd (or at least, i'd) had a giant fuck off sandwich at that place on Lygon st that had the padded walls in it. We had cocktails there, another time?

[identity profile] pollymel.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
... huh.

[identity profile] frito-kal.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
Besides "Salad! With Gravy!"?

Standing in Dex's kitchen, talking about martial arts and having that Eureka! moment where I realized that what you were saying about balance not only Made Sense, but helped a -lot-.

[identity profile] dandesun.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
You in the black trench and shades wandering around one of the various pubs we hung out at in Toronto at Dexcon (that were "only 6 blocks away") looking rather like Trinity.

Even though I'd never seen the movies.

[identity profile] mice.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably one of the worse faux pau's of my life - reaching out to hug you at Claim Jumper and exclaiming, "And you are?"

You are now burned in my mind like a rather embarrassing Porky Pig tattoo on a body part best left unnamed.

[identity profile] mice.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Or a faux pas. I do faux pas's, too. Faux pau's are just exceptionally bad.

[identity profile] indiana-j.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It was either a New Years or a DexCon, when we were at Dex's apartment and you, Nute and I couldn't sleep, so we were gathered around your laptop on the kitchen floor at like stupid o'clock chatting.

[identity profile] indiana-j.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
*snickers* I don't think I was really asleep--more like curled up in a chair going "Urgh, am sleepy and...ooo, voices!"

...I'm bad, the fact that you stepped on him amuses me. :D

Driving you all around L.A.... twice! You are an awesome car partner.
