Working girl yet again...

Turned out the interview today wasn't really much more than sounding me out about the gig. *grins* I start next Monday, since I have that specialist's appointment on Wednesday and I actually wanted some time off before going back into a new place. I'll be working as a legal secretary to the Legal Services Department within the Ministry of Government Services. Basically it's mostly stuff like Privacy Law and Consumer Law (the two lawyers I'll be working for do prosecutions of companies who misbehave, etc) and I'll be helping prepare briefs, book court dates, that sort of thing. I have no idea what the pay rate is going to be since I forgot to ask, but that's being sorted out now.

Job lasts until the end of July, just in time for Dexcon. I'll have to restrict my planned trip to DC to just a weekend, unfortunately, but I'll still be doing it somehow. :)

Yay, regular employment that comes with a desk again!

Damn, you have to cut your DC trip short. Granted, the coolest thing in DC is currently being renovated... but it still takes all day. I know a great live dive in (if you're up for a metro trek) where just reading the menus is fun.

That's great! It sounds like a really cool job (assuming the two lawyers are nice). Have you met them already?

Hello :)

It's been a long time since I read your journal, I hope you don't mind me reading it, but you once told me I could. I read your last few posts about living in Canada, new computer, and it sounds good, apart from your dizzy spells, etc. I had Vitamin B12 issues too a little while ago, and they caught it in time for it not to be serious, but it could have been.
Maybe I was meant to read the comment about long term relationship breakups being bad, but it has been bad for me too, in a cascading effect from my own stupidity and carelessness and fear. I still don't understand half of what you talk about to other fan-ficcers, but I'm glad you've now got a good bunch of friends to rely on. I was never much of a friend to you, I suppose, and can't help feeling that you wasted large chunks of your life with me, the bits that were meant to be the most interesting and productive ones. Anyway, I don't want to be maudlin and make you sad, anymore than I have, and just want to say that I still think about you, often fondly and hope you are going ok. Belated happy birthday, BTW.
