Since I threatened memeage...
Taken from a good chunk of my XP filter, so basically [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], plus whoever else posts it once they're out of bed/online. ;)

Leave your name, and...
1. I'll respond with something random about you
2. I'll challenge you to try something
3. I'll pick a colour that I associate with you
4. I'll tell you something I like about you
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of
7. I'll ask you something I've always wanted to ask you
8. I'll tell you what song(s) reminds me of you (no complaining if it's a sucky song.).
9. If I do this for you, you must post this on yours.

2. Hmm. You're tricky for this one because chances are you have tried most things I'd suggest... Write a poem?
3. Brown.
4. You aren't afraid to address the hard issues.
5. Oh, so _that's_ the infamous Matt. He's shorter than I'd thought.
6. A wombat. No, seriously - solid mass of muscle, doesn't let go when it latches on and has a habit of being somehow endearing even when it's trying to burrow underneath your bed at five in th morning.
7. You're so upfront about things it's hard to pick something... Um, what was your favourite memory of your visit to Australia? (cop out, I know)
8. Anything by Jimmy Barnes.
9. You already did. ;)

Ahaha. Ah. Jump!

2. I'd say log Paige and Amanda, but I've had my BitchFest for the month. ;) Um... ooh, I know. Play music with Johnny while you're hear. Doesn't have to be public, I'd just love to listen to the two of you.
3. Lavender. It's not quite pink, but it's soft and pretty and still has the wacky purple undertones that match the zany humour.
4. You always catch on to when someone's having a bad day and do your best to make them feel better, even if you're not in the best place yourself.
5. Pinging you on AIM about that first 'stoned on Cain' log Red and I were doing about having Paige walk in. You were such a good sport about it.
6. A kitten. Playful and cute and occasionally reminding us that you do have claws when you're unhappy about things but then there's something shiny...
7. What finally tipped you into coming to Dexcon this year? (because I have to work out how to replicate it for future events, bwahaha!)
8. "Fingers of Love", Crowded House. Spiralling guitar chords and an almost dreamy quality to the music. Plus for some strange reason the lyrics seem to fit Paige and Jono in my head.

b) eee! Just wait until July; I have friends who have known me long enough that they knew me when I /was/ blonde and they have serious issues trying to make it fit.
2. heh. Wait. Waitwhat? I... ?! How? How play music? I only sing and what?
b) That... sounds like fun. *flails*
7. Um. Costs, really. And Lauren. Costs and Lauren. I mean, $300+ bucks to get there, and that's not even starting on room and food was just. I is a poor Art student, woe.

1. You hate green beans, except when they're been breaded and fried at the Yellow Griffin. ;)
2. Write a haiku. :)
3. Red.
4. That you're a fighter. You identify what you want to change about your life and you go at it.
5. The clearest is actually that car trip to Baltimore with Mel the Dexcon I went on Walkabout. Yes, the "salad! With gravy!" conversation.
6. A badger. Intelligent, loyal, occasionally growly but usually when it feels threatened...
7. Gah. I hate this one. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
8. Name any Rush song? *grins* I tend to associate the band with you, given you like it so much.

2. You'd think that I could
remember the number of
syllables in these
Except that somehow
I always seem to have to
look it up anyway.
4. People keep telling me this. It occurs to me that I should probably start listening.
7. I don't like this one myself. Right now, DC/Northern Virginia is where I am because I like it here. My friends are here, my dojang is here, my job is here. But if I could transplant THOSE? Probably Southern California, as the climate agrees with me. It's never cold there, but really, just about anywhere warm year-round would do.
8. Most people do. Though, oddly, I don't listen to them half as much as I used to - though they are one of the first bands I turn to when need lyrics because I know almost all the words to 90% of their songs.

1. You once jumpstarted an angel with a vacuum cleaner.
2. Eat something you've never tried before.
3. Duck-bill yellow.
4. You always make me laugh and your poetry sometimes makes me cry.
5. Subreality RRs - I was going through the archive before I got involved and wondering who this apparently insane person was. One of the Blues Nights, iirc.
6. Duh. A duck of course. Daffy Duck, to be exact.
7. How does Jess Willey of today compare to Jess Willey of five years ago?
8. The Banana Splits theme song.

Those were the days.
2. Eat something you've never tried before.
Why does it always come down to will Jess eat it? Jess, eat this piece of mulch... Jess, eat this slice of chocolate and candy corn pizza, Jess eat this piece of alligator. If I hadn't made a promise to not let my inner ten year old die, I'd turn this one down. Fine, but this time it is going to be something that is passable for food.
4. You always make me laugh and your poetry sometimes makes me cry.
As much as I hate quoting myself:
"A journalist's job is to tell the truth about the world. A poet's job is to be a journalist of the soul." - Jesse Willey, October 2005.
5. Subreality RRs - I was going through the archive before I got involved and wondering who this apparently insane person was. One of the Blues Nights, iirc.
Apparently insane? Only apparently??!!! Looking back at some of those days and even I wonder. Of course, I still wonder.
6. Duh. A duck of course. Daffy Duck, to be exact.
I do have his luck but not his ego.
7. How does Jess Willey of today compare to Jess Willey of five years ago?
2001 was really the begining of transition for me. I was still sorta the crazy time person people still tend to think I am. But things happen. I think I knew how to have fun back then. I think I forgot how. I was willing to do stupid (but fun) things for no reason and go on 'adventures' at the drop of a hat. I was an uncaring, selfish, heartless, self-righteous twit but I had a good time doing it.
I'm still a bit selfish, I'm kind of heartless and occasional self-righteous. I've lost my sense of fun. I'm trying to find it again. And before you ask, yes I checked my other pants.
I've gained a sense of wisdom and confidence but lost a sense of joy and hope. Not a trade I'm actually happy with. I think I learned to really care but with it came a sense of loss.
Do you remember that Subreality fic I did called 'My Dinner with Jess'? I think I'm less like Jess in that story and more like Max.
Of course, a lot of what I was writing with Max in that story is the type of person I wanted to be but just didn't know how to be. I think I learned that. I hope that's a good thing.
*raising hand*
...acourse, I have no idea if I'd have time to do peoples' responses, once I've posted the thing on my LJ ...
...*shrug* ahwell ... back to work ...
Re: *raising hand*
2. Um, tricky. Learn to do something you always wanted to as a kid but never had the time.
3. Blue. Mainly because of your icon. :)
4. You were one of those people that I meet and end up talking to for ages like you've been a friend for years.
5. Kielle's wake and talking about... everything, really.
6. A labrador.
7. Considering I don't know you that well... What is your name, what is your quest, what is your favourite colour?
8. "For A Short Time" - Weddings Parties Anything

2. Gah, this one's so hard! Um... going with the 'try a food you never have before' one I gave jess, I think.
3. Deep purple.
4. Your creativity, especially your photography. I love the pictures you post.
5. Dexcon and realising the Nova in my head was not at all like the reality. Much taller, for one. ;)
6. A gazelle.
7. Do you still get the urge to write fanfic these days?
8. "Rational Bohemian" - Mary Prankster.

3. Really? That's possibly the one colour I never wear or use to my advantage...
4. It is good to know someone does. LOL.
7. Yes, sometimes I do. Not always in the "X-Men" category, sometimes in random other places. I've even tried to write again, but usually stop halfway through stories.
