More signs of life

So, back at work today and I'm actually somewhat functional. Due mainly to being too sick to go see the band last night and going to bed at 10:30 pm. And then all the lovely people who are staying with us deciding to leave me to it - I woke up this morning somewhat confused by the lack of anyone in the bed but me. So, to those wonderful folks who slept on the floor and other various uncomfortable places, my eternal gratitude.

Yes, I'm another victim of the Norweigian Death Cooties, by the way. Last time I slow dance with a plague carrier. ;)

I arrived with the happy news that I have to have my cubicle packed by Thursday since they're dismantling it that day and a scary pile of emails that have mostly been taken care of, thanks to Esther. There's filing - because there's always filing - and packing but luckily not much to do with actual thought beyond Jane's expenses.

Dexcon was a blast and I'd like to extend a very hearty thank you to everyone who showed up. It was great to see all of you and I had a great time. There may be more detailed posts at some point, but not when I need to go scout up boxes to pack stuff in. :)

The good news is it only lasts about a day and a half. My eardrums did not burst on the plane.

I did however hurt my neck trying to sleep on the airplane. Flying hungover with one hour of sleep = suck

Actually, I was in Dex's room until 6 when I decided sitting on the living room floor was better than slowly dying of heat. Pebbs had the couch I snagged later on. *nods*

We tought you needed sleep. :)

I didn't contract the Death Flu (I think Scandanavian viruses recognize me as one of their own or something), but the combination of near-heatstroke, nagging back spasms, and ulcer flare-ups made the extra-long flight plus delays back home... interesting.

Now that is the one thing I didn't miss about not being able to go to DexCon this year. I remember the year I got some form of semi-heat stroke on the car ride back to Virginia.
