Techie help?

So, is there a way to install a printer on a PC from a network without using the Install Wizard? Because I have the printer name and server, but the installer isn't recognising them and I know they're right. And no-one here can remember how to do it.

*sighs* This is why I hate using someone else's computer - you have to set up everything all over again. But they are supposed to be dismantling our cubicles today, so...

If it isn't registering the printer, would that not mean you'd have to redownload the drivers? Mind you, I know nothing about these confounded computers.

Try browsing for the sever in Network Neighborhood ... opening the server up to find the printer ... then right-click and choose "Connect"

It MIGHT work ... I didn't actually try it on a printer i'm already connected to ...

Assuming Active Directory's in use, go to Start, then Run, then type in \\.

From that window, find the printer you want. Right-click it, pick Connect.

Done.
