Got this from Esther at work, but I had heard about this guy before...

Australian singer/songwriter, Sarah Reeve, was telling friends about her watching Oprah where she saw an Australian man named Juan Mann who gives out 'FREE HUGS'. He came close to being banned by the council, but managed to get enough signatures on a petition to continue:

That's because the people at anime cons don't know what they're doing. Watch this guy - he's very good at reading body language from the hug and gauging the type of hug needed. For those who are a bit stiff and uncomfortable, he moves away once they're done, to give them space.

I think he's brilliant, especially considering he's in Australia, which isn't known for its casual contact...
