Friday on my mind...

It's not often I'm this glad for the arrival of the weekend, but it's been a long hard week. Makes me wonder how I'm going to be, working full time again for the next two weeks. I think I've gotten lazy over the last year. *sighs*

I really do need the money, tho'. Today I got my tax return back, and somehow I owe money. Only $38, but it's the first time I haven't gotten a refund. And this is after working part-time for half the financial year; this sucks arse. Next time, I think I'll get Dad's accountant to do it for me - I must have missed something. Just as well my social life is quiet at the mo', so I can save up for AussieCon.. And Pete's making noises again about people trying to get me put on full-time permanently, although it's getting to the point that I'll believe it when I see it.

Speaking of AussieCon, good news on the Canadian front - Dex has confirmed that he will be there. *happydances* This is a very good thing - ever since the last Dexcon, I've been getting this overwhelming urge to show people my favourite places. Must be the after-effects of having Dex play tour guide to me. *grins*

Ooh, and that reminds me of something else - Mel, you still up for that interview idea of yours? I really liked the sound of it. It's too good an idea to go to waste. *grins* And once 'Draste finishes The Thesis, we'll have a web-page designer handy to do the techie stuff. ;) Any thoughts for preliminary victims?

People - well, some people, will also be glad to know the writing bug has bitten again, and I've actually been working on things. It's how I go - bursts of frantic activity, followed by periods of not much at all. Comes of having a Muse who's a lizard - lizards aren't known for their long attention spans. *ducks* I went looking through my old notebooks - always a scary thing - and found a Subreality fic I'd started for the ElseMuse challenge. *grins* I think I'd better run it past Raph first.

Enough trivialities from me - I'm still so tired my brain won't focus on anything much. Besides, I hear the call of the Bath Gods, and their summons cannot be denied.

Well, we ~could~ start with Canadians. Dex, Lise, Chandri in her new place. Then drift South. Or advertise for writers who'd be interested, and set out an itinerary that might even make geographical sense.

What do you think?

Web-page designer might be a strong description of someone who knows a little html and can manage a simple colour scheme :). But yeah, I'm happy to do it.

Hmmm ... since this is a project about a bunch of Aussies touring a virtual world, how about "Wandering Stars" as a title, to reflect a nice Southern Cross motif and the general excellence of the Aussie contingent ;)? I'm thinking of doing the page in green, gold and white rather than blue and white, though - blue and white just isn't distinctive enough, and if I add red to reflect the flag we'll just end up looking American. Or possibly French. It *is* possible to make green and gold look effective rather than tacky if you pick the right shades instead of that horrible lime and lemon you always see ... OK, so my enthusiasm for web design is adhead of my skills. That's a good thing :).

I'll leave the interviewing to others for the moment, since I'm contributing in another way.
