PSA - Impending Absence

As I've mentioned to various people at various times, tomorrow I go to Quebec City, to join my parents (who are there already and not missing in a ditch somewhere, which was becoming a possibility due to phone issues) for a week. A couple of days in QC, a couple of days in Montreal, travelling time... it's pretty much my first "travelling for the sake of travelling" trip in a while. Unfortunately, because I'll be with the parents, I won't be able to arrange to meet up with anyone, and I don't think I'll be online a lot - I'll have the laptop with me and there's wireless in the first hotel, but again, there for holiday and not to spend time online.

It'll be very good for me, I think. :)

When in Montreal the Lachine Canal is worth seeing- it was the gateway to the old port when it wasn't old. And if you happen to get onto Boul St Joseph in Lachine, which I highly recommend as it's beautiful along the canal there and you can rent paddle boats, and also hit a small museum about fur trading, there is a lovely Mexican place next to 1670 St Joseph (which is one of an old white rowhouse- my bedroom window used to overlook their patio). And of course, you'll want to take a picture outside of Rossi Bicycles, which is just a few blocks down. :D
