Having adored him in Neverwhere, I'd love to see him fill the Dcotor's shoes...

I've never seen Neverwhere, but (other than the two episodes of Doctor Who he was in for a little bit) I know him from Jekyll. From what I remember, he could pull off both funny and a bit disturbing, too. It might work--I know I liked him, at least.

He might just work, going from that. If he can talk as fast as Tennant does at times, it would be incredible, too.

A couple of semi-reliable semi-insiders I know have said he's more than just the bookies' favourite - he was definitely being courted a while back. Whether it has/will come to anything (or even how reliable my acquaintances are in this instance - they've been spot on in the past), I have no idea.
