It's a high security kind of day...

So, there's a lockdown on our building today, due to threats that Tamil protesters will conduct hunger strikes in government buildings. Which means there's only one external door operating in my building today and I have to wear my government ID everywhere I go. I wouldn't mind so much if they'd bothered to put signs on the doors this morning explaining that we had to use the Bay Street entrance - I was most confused this morning when the doors weren't working for me. Such a mean thing to do on a Monday morning.

In other news, Jane's cancelled her office day due to having the 'flu and not wanting to panic anyone by coming in sick, it's Judicial Conference Week, so no actual court dates since we don't have any JPs available, and the lawyers all have a meeting at 3:00 p.m. Oh, and I've finished the bulk of my work already (except for the dreaded Filing) and there were leftover pastries for us to scavenge, yum.

As stated elsewhere, it has been a None Pizza Left Beef (http://www.thesneeze.com/mt-archives/000707.php) kind of morning here, with numerous cries of "We don't use them computer inter-nets things here!" from anachronistic throwback shiznos wanting immediate information but refusing to use the tools by which they can GET it.

"You say that we can get up-to-date Post rosters!"

"Yes, you log onto the website and..."

"We don't use computers here!"

"Then you can't get up-to-date rosters, you'll get the monthly one mailed out like everyone else."

"HOW DARE YOU?"

"...yes, how dare I utilize my evil powers of technology for the betterment of mankind."
