Questions from [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]

1) What makes Australia better than the States?

Our social services - health, education, that sort of thing. We haven't resorted to the "user pays" system that only hurts those who are most vulnerable. At least, not yet. Give Howard long enough and we'll lost that too.

2) Conversely, what makes the States better than Australia?

No Tall Poppy Syndrome. You're not afraid to be proud of your achievements, and people aren't cut down just because they're successful.

3) Say that there was no threat of STDs or other social diseases. Say that you had everyone you ever had a crush on or loved a little in the same room, of whichever genders. Say that everyone was blissfully unattached and very open-minded. Would you start an orgy?

*grins* Hell, yeah. ;)

4) Is there one meat product that you still have cravings for and secretly eat every now and then?

Nope. I still like the smell of bacon, and going past the Turkish place on Sydney Rd makes me hungry every time, but I can honestly I haven't deliberately eaten meat for about eight years. Mainly because on the occasions I have accidentally had it, the results have been ugly, to say the least. The vegetarianism isn't a moral/ethical thing, it's because I can't digest meat.

5) What's your biggest flaw?

My lack of confidence in myself. It's at the root of all the times I feel bad. It stops me from doing a lot of things, and it's why I take disappointment hard - it's like I've justified the lack of faith by failing, and then I don't want to try again.

There is a song . . .

I keep trying to find for you, but I'm unsuccessful so far. It's by Butterfingers and called Every Time and it's about how Every Time he does something it goes bad. The last line of the verse goes "Every time I order vegetarian I get beef" followed by the lament "Chicken is not a vegetable".

After your adventures with ham in vegetarian foods, I couldn't help but be reminded *g*. When I get it I'll burn it for you.

I've also found the Crying in Public Places website and am buying both their CDs, so there will be burning happening for you when I get them. Plus a band called Gorgeous who have the Do Do Do Song that I love, that you'll love and will burn it for you too.
