Upcoming Birthday-ness
Apr. 24th, 2012 12:23 pmSo, my birthday's on May 10. I had a great idea for gifts, for those people already planning to do that (and yes, I'll be reposting this to my Facebook to grab the locals ;) ). And, actually, this will probably do for Christmas as well. Or any other random gift-giving time.
I want Shirts.
Basically, almost all of my current wearable shirts are Dexcon remainders or Guinness St. Patrick's Day handouts or work shirts that are being retired because my belt wears holes in the front. But! There are dozens of awesome shirts out there which are fun and geeky and me-themed! So, as a challenge to my friends who were getting me a present already, go forth and find the most "me" shirt you can think of! Size Large (yeah, yeah, I'm a large these days, I'm working on it) and the preference is for the longer torso ones so they don't roll up my back all the time. ;P
Potential vendors:
Think Geek
Threadless
Woot Shirt
Snorg Tees
Band shirts, baseball (Blue Jays) or AFL (Sydney Swans) shirts, and even dorky tourist shirts from Australia are also welcome. :)
And there, I have Pimped. Go forth and shirt me, minions. ;)

Upcoming birthday-ness
Apr. 28th, 2011 12:18 pmSo, May 10 is my 20th annual 21st birthday (see what I did there?) and for the sake of those people asking me "what do you want?", I present the usual Amazon lists:
Amazon.ca
Amazon.com (which also has non-Amazon items from my universal wishlist on it)
Should someone be considering giftage of the non-monetarial sort, I'm open for drabbles, layouts, icons, and birthday wishes. Also, removing things from the wiki to-do list would be awesome.
Thus ends the yearly birthday list awkwardness. Roll on the Christmas list awkwardness!

So, yesterday was busy. Helena came over and we took over Aisy's apartment for the Great Christmas Cookie Bake Off. Yes, folks, I was involved in the creation of cookies. And they turned out pretty damn good, too. ;) Ten dozen of the buggers, so now I have cookies for work Christmas gifts (barring two people who are gluten intolerant, who I have ideas for) and all I need to do is package them nicely.
Yesterday (well, today, actually, but yesterday in Australia Time) was my mum's 60th birthday. I tried to call and wish her a happy one, but the phone was engaged, so I shall try again after work tonight. But I did try! And I shall wish her a happy birthday here, too, with the birthday cake icon and everything:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM!!!
After baking, we had dinner down at 17 Steps, which was amazing as always. So much love for that place, I want to share it with everyone I know. I went back upstairs, but I was kind restless, so I went back down to 17 Steps and watched A Nightmare Before Christmas with folks - there's kind of an informal Sunday night movie night going on. That did the trick in terms of making me sleepy, even if my dreams were extremely weird, including coming to the first aid rescue of three cyclists who had crashed due to one slipping on wet leaves on the road and taking out two other people. Yay road rash, not.
Now for the meme:
Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot to you (in no order whatsoever).
Day Seven: Four turn-offs.
Day Eight: Three turn-ons.
Day Nine: Two images that describe your life right now, and why.
Day Ten: One confession.
( Seven things that cross my mind a lot. )

Briefly...
May. 31st, 2010 03:08 pm...since I have one of my tension headaches and while my brain has stopped trying to ooze out of my right eye, thanks to the drugs Bev gave me, I'm still not a happy bunny.
1) [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I went and saw Jonathan Coulton last night, using the tickets [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] gave me for my birthday. It was a great show and lots of fun. Much laughing was had.
2) Today (well, today on this side of the planet) is [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s birthday. Happy Being Born Celebrations to my evil brain twin!
3) I've had social life out the wazoo lately. At some point I shall tell you all about it, when I'm not a) out and about or b) recovering from being out and about.

Interesting start to the day...
May. 10th, 2010 10:23 amToday I am 40 years old. I am possibly still a bit drunk (if my typing is anything to go by!) following the shots that were bestowed upon me last night, I'm at work and Jane is here. I've also started the day with a can of Coke.
Yep, today will be interesting indeed.
The party Saturday was fantastic, even with the change of plans due to the weather gods emphatically making a point that outside in May wasn't going to happen (gale force winds, icy rain, temperatures of 5 degrees C and a forecast of possible snow overnight!). Thank you so much to everyone who came, and to Mindy and Johnny who cleaned their house for us to use and to Dex and Mindy who made oodles of delicious food. :) Chicken mole for the win.
And now I'm going to go see Jane. And hope I don't reek of tequila. ;)
Post-Jane Edit: So, Jane cracked a rib over the weekend. *facepalms* But she also gave me a $40 gift card for Second Cup (that's a lot of coffee!) and not a lot in the way of work (whoot!). And Sonia gave me some very pretty flowers. I like today so far.

Birthday Party update
Apr. 29th, 2010 01:48 pmFor those who are on LJ and attending, we'll be having our party on May 8 and Chez Devil - i.e., Johnny and Mindy have kindly agreed to host us in their backyard. Starts around... sevenish? Lauren? That okay?
I'm having an OMG busy day. But at least Jane bought me lunch and agrees my neice is the cutest thing in the world. :)

Our Birthday and Other Celebrations
Apr. 17th, 2010 09:55 pmJust as a head's up - May 8 is The Party for Jen, Lauren and I. We're in the process of looking for a venue, but those of you in town, who I might have missed on the Facebook invite, keep the date free. :)
(If I did miss you on the Facebook invite, ping me and let me know - I'm a bit vague atm.)
And, should you be wondering, yes I have an Amazon list. The day for me is May 10.

Birthdays!
Jan. 13th, 2010 12:15 pmTwo, one belated because it was yesteday, Australian time, one belated because it was yesterday, EST.
Happy birthday to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], whose user name I still need to copy and paste. ;) Happy birthday for yesterday, mate - I hope you had a great dinner and are having a great holiday. :)
And January 13 marks the first anniversary of a Very Important Event - me becoming an auntie. Zoe Lee had her 1st birthday, yesterday in Australia/today here. *throws confetti* She's as adorable as ever, as the photographic evidence from Christmas (sent by my own auntie Lea), can attest:

Also, a bunch of new Zoe photos are up here Pages 10 and 11, spanning October to December.
