"Running up that hill..."
Jun. 7th, 2001 07:35 pmCurse you, Dex and Dande - now I have 80's song lyrics stuck in my head.
I dropped into chat today after I got home, 'saw' the Corner folks. Mucho good fun, even though at one point I was being assailed from all sides by /msgs and AIM. I use IRCle, since I have a Macintosh, and private messages don't get their own window - they appear in red, and there's this little alarm sound effect to tell me when they pop up. Handy, if I'm in the kitchen (just around the corner) and someone wants my attention. But it does mean that sometimes my computer sounds like it's approaching meltdown.
Ooh, much happy surprise today - my Amazon order came today! BRM rang me at work to let me know the postie had left a parcel card, so I went down to the post office after work in the hope of them having it back there by then. And it was! So I have two new books to read, along with the pile that's threatening to tumble off my bedside table and crush me in my sleep. I was reading my book dicussion group's book The Drowner in the bath this evening - yeah, I know, terrible irony. But I like to read in the bath, it gives me something to do. Letting my brain think too much is a bad thing sometimes; it comes up with posts like the Paranoia/Confidence one. Bad brain, no more mopig. Besides, I've already used up my monthly whinge post. ;)
Also (hopefully) sorted out the THOSD RR mess. Banged a couple of heads together (in a nce way!) and deleted a post or two. Now I just wish people would pay attention to what's been written - Shai's bloody well disappeared again, with Angel Evangeline's last post. *sighs* Thank goodness for the "edit" function on this new MB.
Other than that, I don't have a lot to add tonight. Just coasting, really, enjoying the sensation of not having to be somewhere or do something. I think I'll pull out "Rock the Boat" and try and finish it - chat's quiet tonight, so I should be able to concentrate on and off.
