Just passing through...
Aug. 28th, 2001 04:38 pmI'm logging off after this, and going to go have a bath and a Neurofen for my headache (the result of a pulled shoulder muscle last weekend from digging garden beds), and then I have a job application to do. Not that I actually want the position now - there's several level 3 ppsitions that have become available, all in country courts - but the practice will be good. There's not much point me taking any of them, since I'll be moving back to Melbourne next year, and the nearest one is in Geelong, about an hour by train away.
Long day in court, even with "Speedy" McLeod. Children's Court, with what seemed all our most regular 'clients'. But we got through by three, and Paula told me to go at three-thirty, so I could do my application. Looks like tomorrow will be much the same, although Rob, the prosecutor, is trying to clear the list as he has the flu. One is a 'not guilty' domestic assault case, which I'd be happier not doing myself - the defendant is an evil bastard who has kept his girlfriend in fear for years, and whose defence is a pack of lies. Peter (the boss) saw him threatening his girlfriend when she failed to have the intervention order taken off him. *grins* That would be something for the defence lawyer, having the court registrar giving evidence against his client. *chuckles*
Off I go - time to run that bath. Catch you later.
