*whimpers* The downside of being a music junkie...

I finally got around to checking these guys out - Great Big Sea. Epona recommended them after Dexcon, which was very cruel of her, because now I'm down here where I can't get at their CDs easily or cheaply. I could go via Amazon, but with the Aussie dollar as horrendous as it is (49 cents to the US dollar, last time I paid attention), that could be pretty pricey. And I really, really want them now. Or at least some MP3s.

*makes with the pixie eyes* Anyone care to indulge in a music exchange? I'll swap Neil Finn or The Whitlams for as much Great Big Sea someone has.

Midnight rain...

It's raining, and it's midnight, or so close that by the time I finish this, it will be. Rather appropriate, after the Paul Kelly song I quoted a couple of posts ago.

I'm sitting here in bed, thinking things over. Considering the future. My future, the world's future... Sometimes, especially in recent weeks, it feels like I have so many thoughts running through my head that there isn't room for them all, and so they blend and merge together, like someone stuck a hand mixer in my skull and hit 'puree'.

The big stuff, the world-affecting stuff... it's so big and so complicated, and every article I read or news story I hear or see or every opinion I have presented to me, they only serve to confuse and disturb me further. There's no clear cut answers, no simple solution, no matter what either side says. I watch the bombing of Afghanistan, I watch the protest by Islamic extremists, the refusal of any Muslim country to support the US action in Afghanistan, and I can't help wondering if maybe this is what was planned all along, whether the US is merely sealing its fate.

And the more I think about it, the worse I feel, and the less sense any of it makes to me. The world has changed, and not for the better, and I wonder what the future will bring.
