For today I am the staff of the Wodonga courthouse. Which means I can bring my laptop in, plug it into the fax line during lunch and see what you guys are up to. *grins* Not that it's been exactly cruisey today - at one point I had four or five different matters all lined up at the counter, and a phone that wouldn't quit - sometimes I think there's some kind of hidden camera on me that's hooked up to some bastard in the phone compant. ;P

Any way, I'm enjoying my day so far - enough to do that time moves quickly, but not so much that I'm going insane. And I'm going to save the initiating for tomorrow - I've got email to catch up on. ;)

Speaking of communications, not one but two lovely long calls yesterday. About three hours (and I'm hoping it was three and not much over, with the billing thing) with [livejournal.com profile] iamgerg and then later [livejournal.com profile] pollymel called and kept me up way past my work-night bedtime. But it was worth it, I tell you!

(Note: Yes, I've had Coke for lunch, how can you tell?)

I'm having dinner at my parents' place tonight, then heading home for Buffy. First episode of Season Six, whoo!

And I'm off - gotta go open the doors again. :P

Technically I should be able to take off now - the door's locked, the money's safely in the safe and all I need to do is hit the lights and switch off my computer - but silly me agreed to stay on until five to allow the police next door to use one of the court rooms for a meeting of some kind. D'uh me. Actually, the official closing time is five, and it's always a good idea to keep someone around in case someone from Melbourne Court calls and checks in.

Ah, it's wonderful working for the most paranoid department in the State.

Any way, I managed to get a fair bit of email answered, although the phone got on the nerves a bit after a while, ringing as it did every ten minutes. Still, things got done, and there were no great hassles. In a way, I prefer having the place to myself - sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't take on one of those one-person courts when I get back. Then I remind myself they're even more remote than here and I'm already climbing the walls with boredom. ;)

*urges the clock to go faster* C'mon, I wanna go home! Or to mum and dad's, at least.

I just hope I manage to stay awake - good food, three beers and a bubble bath have left me feeling decidedly floopy.

I have decided I hate my postie at the moment. I know there's three items in the mail for me, but as yet, no sign. I think I like it better when I don't know they're coming - at least I don't get impatient.

My headache has gone at last - took two Neurofen and the bath to do it. One of my tension headaches - I've been clenching my jaw pretty much all day, by the feel of it. Even me cheekbone and eye socket were aching. And riding home with a headache throbbing underneath your helmet is no fun, I can tell you.

Night all - have a good one.
