Actually, it's not too bad this time: instead of the Easter Bunny, I've been visited by a lurghi (*grins* Goon afficiandoes will get the ref). Yep, my nose is running, my throat is prickling and my head feels like it's stuffed with cotton wool. In the middle of my long weekend off, damnit. Not like, during work, where I could get some benefit in the shape of time off.
*thinks* Actually, I'm not feeling as bad as I think I will get - this is just the start. So I may manage to score some sick leave after all. ;) But I'm drinking honey and lemon and have a quiet evening watching videoes planned - Love and Other Catastrophes for the RSB RR (couldn't find Animal House Staffie. My video store sucks), and Mystery Men, because I felt in the need of something humorous. :) Now if I could just find those echinacea lozenges I know I have around somewhere...
I had my grandparents over for lunch today, as part of the 'gift voucher' I gave them for Christmas, entitling them to one free meal at "Chez Howard", care of their eldest grandchild. :) There's some painting involved too - need to organise a weekend to do that for them. But it was good, and afterwards we drove up to Leanne and Phil's new place, a farm in the hills above Wodongna. It's a fair way out, over some rough dirt roads and up some steep hills (I was thinking of riding the bike up next time until I saw those!), but the view is absolutely incredible. All the way to the mountains of three sides. And the house is nice too, well thought-out and situated. They were having a BBQ tonight to celebrate moving in (which was yesterday), but Grandad was looking a bit tired and not very socially inclined, so I played up the feeling unwell part and gave him an excuse to leave, while Nana was going to stay and Lee was going to drive her back. *grins* Lee and I freaked out Phil's sister - she couldn't believe I was Lee's neice, standing next to her. I'm at least five inches taller and probably one size larger, possibly two. And Lee's always looked the younger. *chuckles* I like breaking assumptions like that. :)
Gak, I feel gross. I hate being sick, but there's not much for it but to deal with it and get it over and done with. Noodles and soup for dinner tonight, I think. Need the hot liquid on my throat. *hmms* Wonder if there's any Thai style chili noodles left?
