Pieces falling into place.
Dec. 17th, 2002 10:26 amSo, I finally got through to the State Training Officer yesterday (the person in charge of telling us where we're working) and it turns out the DoJ is determined to have me leave. Why, do you ask? Because come January, I'm going to be working in PERIN Court. PERIN, for those who have not the foggiest (and I'm expecting it to be pretty much everyone) is the Penalty Enforcement arm of the DoJ. Which means I'll be involved in chasing up unpaid fines.
See me dance for joy, not.
But, in the meantime, since PERIN is moving buildings from one inner-city location to another, I'll be at Melbourne Magistrates'. In the Criminal registry, but the looks of it. So I'll have some relatively-interesting work to do for the next month, and it's just around the corner from Phil's place, which will be my temporary refuge until I can find one of my own.
Speaking of which, should check the online real estate site again and do some emails. After I shower. :)
So, it's the inner city for me, at least until I get a better job, which you'd better believe I'm going to be looking for. There's a promotion going at Sunshine Court I've already put in an expression of interest for, and once the house situation is settled, I can start searching in earnest. Motivation, you see - PERIN is going to eat my brain.
I'm heading down to Melbourne on Thursday evening, for work on Friday, then going back to Wodonga on the Tuesday evening (Christmas Eve). Then hopefully back to work on the Monday, after pulling a sickie (actually, it's impossible for me to be back at work that Friday, which the way the trains run) to see The Two Towers with Dad. Yep, Australia's drawn the short stick again - it's not released until the 26th December. Bugger.
Other than that, life continues apace. Slowly developing films (with the help of my brother, who paid for three as my Chrissie present), recovering sleep and trying to get my act together. Bike cleaning and grandmother-in-hospital-visiting today.
And on that note, I'm off to have that shower. Not that there's much point - it's already close to thirty degrees Celcius, with a predicted high of somewhere in the 40s. After 40.1 yesterday. *sighs* But it's a dry heat. *grins*
