Weekend catchup...
Feb. 3rd, 2003 02:14 pmOkay, so somewhere along the line I seem to have acquired a social life.
It's cool.
Weekend was pretty much a whirlwind - pub on Friday with Phil, pub again with Phil and Yasmin on Saturday, Maelstrom gathering at my place on Sunday. And amongst all this social stuff, I even found time to do laundry down at the local place (and had a chat with a Dutch girl, which was pretty cool - I like talking to Travellers), write a little bit more of Death and the Art of Pyramid Selling and clean my bike and regrease the chain. I seem to have a slow leak in the back tyre, however, so I will be picking up a spare tube and a repair kit on the way home today.
Monday comes all too soon.
Weird coincidence - one of the new girls who started here this morning, her dad was one of my karate instructors back in the early days of my training. So we've been talking karate and such (she's a black belt too) and I've convinced her to try out MUKC. And I've also found there's training Tuesday and Thursday, 5-7, so guess where I'm going tomorrow night? Provided the bike co-operates, that is. :)
One more week at Melbourne Civil, and then I'm off to PERIN. Fun fun fun - the people are lovely, or so I get told, but I'm going to be bored out of my skull. So I'd better make a move on these job applications - three VPS 3 positions are coming up, two at Heidelberg Court, one with the Bureau of Emergency Services. More court work, but hey, I get paid better. And I have to be in it to win it, as they say.
